Recently, #Milence, a joint venture established by Daimler Truck, #TRATON GROUP, and #Volvo Group, officially commenced its operations in Germany, the largest road transport market in Europe, with the opening of two public electric truck charging hubs near Leipzig. These hubs, located in Hermsdorfer Kreuz and Vockerode, offer a total of 12 charging bays with a maximum charging power of up to 400 kW, and the charging cost is set at €0.399 per kWh (excluding VAT).
The #Hermsdorfer Kreuz charging station, situated in Thuringia, is on the A4 highway connecting Poland and Frankfurt, and is equipped with 8 charging bays serving all brands of heavy-duty electric trucks. The Vockerode #charging station, located in Saxony-Anhalt on the A
9 highway, features 4 charging bays and is accompanied by amenities such as rest areas and shower facilities.
Milence's charging network expansion is not limited to Germany; the company aims to establish 1,700 public charging points across #Europe by 2027 to support and accelerate the transition to zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles. Moreover, Milence offers a #user-friendly #payment system, allowing drivers to pay for charging services through various charging cards, the Milence app, or bank cards, ensuring convenience and transparency in payment.
With the development of electric truck technology and the rise of environmental awareness, Milence's #charging network will play a significant role in promoting green freight and achieving carbon neutrality goals in Europe.
