Bangkok, Thailand — The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has announced an ambitious plan to install 210 new electric vehicle (EV) charging outlets across the country by the end of next year. This strategic expansion is in line with Thailand's commitment to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and support the growing EV industry.

Enhancing EV Infrastructure

EGAT, with over 50 years of experience in electricity supply and transmission, is leveraging its expertise to cater to the burgeoning EV market. The current tally of 211 charging outlets is set to increase by 110 this year and another 100 in the following year, reinforcing EGAT's position as a key player in the EV sector.

Collaborative Efforts for EV Ecosystem

In a significant move, EGAT has partnered with the Department of Energy Business (DOEB) and the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EECO) to develop the EleX by EGAT Eco Charging Sphere. This model aims to accelerate EV deployment in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and bolster Thailand's EV ecosystem with a state-of-the-art charging station equipped with sustainable energy solutions.

Innovative Solutions for EV Users

EGAT's dedication to the EV ecosystem is further exemplified by its comprehensive services, including the EleXA app for managing charging queues and the BackEN platform for station management. These tools, along with real-time monitoring and financial reporting features, streamline operations for EV station owners and enhance the user experience.

Commitment to Sustainable Growth

With the EV sector in Thailand flourishing, EGAT's expansion underscores the nation's push towards sustainable transportation. The new charging outlets and collaborative projects are set to play a pivotal role in achieving the government's goal of having 30% of all vehicles produced in the country be electric by 2030.
